Professor Dele Olaolu, is a first - rate Chartered Banker & an alumnus of the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS),United Kingdom where he obtained his postgraduate certificate in Senior Training, Leadership and Executive Management Development. He comes as a high profile banker, industry analyst, consultant & academic with eyes for details. Has varied, multi-skilled & cross-functional experiences spanning over three decades in the banking industry and the public sector. Core competences (as senior banking executive for over three decades at various levels) include – core operations, business development, retail, strategy & performance management, research & development, credit analysis & management, remedial asset management & debt recovery, human capital management & leadership development, internal control, audit & inspection. Have been involved in executive top level management decision as EXCO member of banks for over two decades. Core competences in academics include – business management, finance, strategy & business policy, entrepreneurship and marketing (as a lecturer for over two decades)

Prof Dele Olaolu is currently a Professor in the Department of Business Management & Marketing, Baze University, Abuja & holds a PhD Degree in Business Administration with doctoral thesis in finance from Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria. He also holds a B.Sc Degree in Banking & Finance with Second Class (Honors), Upper Division and a Master of Science (M.Sc) Degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Nigeria. In addition, he holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance (with distinction) from Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos, Nigeria as a pioneer member of the LASU-MBA Degree program in 1994.

He is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) where he currently serves as member, Governing Council Committee on Capacity Building, Certification & Standards - the flagship Governing Council committee in charge of -professional banking examinations, banking education in Nigeria, competency framework in the banking industry, linkage programs with universities & polytechnics and capacity building within the banking industry . In addition, he also serves as Chief Examiner on ‘Practice on Banking’ subject of the Institute. Prof Olaolu is an advocate of Total Quality Management (TQM), corporate governance & ethical standards. He voluntarily retired from Wema Bank Plc as Regional Director North, in January 2016 after 30 years of professional banking practice cutting across six different banks without any blemish. Before he was moved to Abuja as Regional Director North, he served as Regional Director, South West for three years from 2011-2014 covering all the six states in the south west of the country . Other executive management positions previously held include - Chief Risk Officer, Head, Operations, Group Head, Human Capital Management, GH, Training & Development, GH, Strategy & Performance Management, GH, Brand Management, GH, Remedial Asset Management, Business Development to mention a few.

He was formerly coordinator, PhD Business Management Program, Baze University, Abuja and also a visiting Professor to Nasarawa State University, Keffi where he teaches PhD & M.Sc Finance programs. He has produced eleven (11) PhD Holders in Finance as at August, 2023 and currently supervising over eight PhD Thesis awaiting external examinations. Dele Olaolu has authored several books on strategy, finance, corporate policy & leadership with practical approach on implementation. He is senior faculty & consultant to Financial Institutions Training Center (FITC) & Lagos Business School (LBS) has facilitated several in-plant and open courses with tremendous success while serving as consultant to other organizations in various capacities.
